Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how the Solnox app and this website handle your information. In short: the app keeps everything on your phone, and we don't collect, see or sell your schedule, hours, pay or notes.
In short
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your calendar, hours, pay and notes stay on your phone.
- Backups and exports go only where you choose to put them.
- The website sets no cookies. The optional support chat does not store your conversation.
Who we are
Solnox is made by Margera Labs, the trade name of Salih Güler, an independent developer based in Türkiye. Margera Labs is responsible for the app, this website and this policy.
For any privacy question or request, write to margeralabs@gmail.com.
What the app stores on your phone
To work, the app stores what you enter: your jobs and hourly wages, currency, shift types, rotations, changes to single days, notes, reminder settings and whether you have unlocked Pro. With Pro, it also stores the days you mark as holidays, the payslip totals you type in for the paycheck check and the net-to-gross ratio worked out from them. Schedules that other people share with you are stored as well; they contain only the rotation pattern and the shift names.
This data is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to see it.
Cloud backup and moving to a new phone
The app is excluded from Android's cloud backup. Its data is never copied to your Google account's backup, to Google Drive or to any other server.
If you set up a new phone with Android's phone-to-phone transfer, Android can copy the app's data directly from the old phone to the new one, without a server: your jobs, wages, shifts, changes to single days and notes, the holidays you marked, the payslip totals you typed in with the net-to-gross ratios worked out from them, and the schedules other people shared with you. Your Pro status and the state of a Pro trial are kept in a separate file that is not copied; Google Play restores a Pro purchase on the new phone. We cannot access any of this. You can also move your data yourself with a backup file, as described below.
Files you export
Backup files, CSV files, calendar (.ics) files and, with Pro, the PDF month report are created only when you ask for them, and are saved or shared where you choose. Anyone you share them with can read them.
The PDF month report shows the hours and the estimated pay of one month. Your day notes are in it only if you switch that on for the export. Before every backup, CSV and PDF export the app warns you that the file contains your pay information.
When you share your rotation, as a QR code on the screen, as a text code or as a .solnox file, it contains only the rotation pattern, the shift types with their names and times and, if you type one, a title. It never contains your pay, your notes or the name of your job, and nothing that identifies you or your phone is added.
Permissions
The app asks for seven permissions. Notifications: to show your shift reminders. Run at startup: to set your reminders again after your phone restarts. Vibration: to vibrate when a reminder arrives. Alarms & reminders: to schedule reminders for the set time or very close to it; the app uses it only if you turn on exact reminders and allow it in Android's settings, and without it Android may delay a reminder, sometimes by an hour or longer when it is saving battery. Camera: only to scan the QR code of a rotation someone shares with you; the camera opens only when you start a scan, no photo or video is saved, and you can paste the code or open a file instead, so the camera is never required. Google Play billing: for the optional one-time Pro purchase through Google Play. View network connections: Google Play's billing library adds this; it only checks whether a connection exists and cannot send data.
The app has no internet permission. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to a server.
QR codes are read on your phone by Google's ML Kit library, which is built into the app. ML Kit is designed to send Google usage and performance data, such as device and app information, an identifier for the installation, performance measurements and error codes. Because the app has no internet permission, it cannot send this data; the camera image and the code it reads stay on your phone.
Purchases
Pro is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment, and we never see your card or bank details. Google gives us order information, such as an order number, the product, the price and the buyer's country, which we use for accounting, tax and refunds. The app asks Google Play whether you own Pro and remembers the answer on your phone.
This website
The website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising. If you choose a language, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and protect them against abuse.
Support chat
The chat on this website is optional. When you send a message, the conversation so far is sent to our server to produce an answer. We do not store the conversation: it is kept in your browser tab until you close it. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse.
When the assistant runs on an AI model, your messages are processed by Anthropic PBC, our service provider, to generate the reply. Anthropic keeps them for a limited period under its own commercial terms and privacy policy (see the Anthropic Privacy Center at privacy.claude.com). Please don’t enter personal, health or payment details. You can always e-mail us instead.
If you write to us, we use your e-mail address and message only to answer you. We delete support e-mails 12 months after the conversation ends, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Testers
If you join the closed test, we hold only your e-mail address (in our Google Group for testers or Google Play's tester list, and in our mailbox) and any feedback you choose to send us. We never see your app data.
We use your address because you asked to join the test: to run it, to send you the opt-in link and updates, and, if you are still in the test when the 14 days end, to send your thank-you code. E-mails to testers always go out as BCC, so no one sees the other testers' addresses, and the thank-you code is sent to each tester individually.
We delete your address after the code is sent, unless you ask to stay informed. If you leave the test before the 14 days end, we delete it when the closed test ends. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to margeralabs@gmail.com.
How long data is kept and how to delete it
App data stays on your phone until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. Files you export or share are under your control. We keep no app data and do not store chat conversations; when the chat uses an AI model, Anthropic keeps the messages for a limited period, as described above. Order information from Google Play is kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, for a short period under its own policy.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. The only other parties involved are service providers doing their part: Google (Google Play and purchases), Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting of the website and its chat) and Anthropic (the support chat, when it uses an AI model). They may process data in the United States and in other countries outside yours. Where the law requires, these transfers rely on safeguards in the providers’ terms, such as standard contractual clauses.
Legal grounds
Where the GDPR, KVKK or similar laws apply, we rely on these grounds: we answer your e-mails and chat questions because you asked us to, and because of our legitimate interest in supporting our users; we keep order records because tax and accounting law requires it; and we protect the website and the chat against abuse because of our legitimate interest in keeping them safe and available. The app itself sends us no personal data.
Security
App data is kept in the app's private storage, protected by Android's app isolation and your phone's screen lock. The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Children
Solnox is made for working adults and is not directed at children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Türkiye's KVKK, Brazil's LGPD or California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data. We hold almost no data about you; in practice this concerns e-mails you have sent us. Write to margeralabs@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.

This policy is available in several languages. If the versions differ, the English version applies.
